Thank you to everyone who made our Go Gold Day a huge hit! We were so excited to see so many of our #teammates at Rivets Stadium last Saturday enjoying a day just for them!
The day kicked off with our Fire Truck Pull. Teams of pullers representing each of our #Teammates raced to see who could pull the Fire Truck 90 feet the fastest! Meanwhile, our #teammates were in the truck cheering on their team over the PA and generally seeing how much noise they could get a Fire Truck to make 🙂
Next we went inside Rivets Stadium where we had activity booths set up for the kids to enjoy. How can you not have fun making slime, getting your face painted, taking goofy pics in the photo booth, and playing games until you won enough prizes till your arms are full!
Then it was on to the big game! Each year, Senator Syverson puts together his Dream Team of local community leaders with big hearts. Prior to the game, each of our #Teammates threw out a ceremonial first pitch. The Dream Team took on the K Cancer Softball Team and squeaked out a win over the girls. Look out next year, they are going to want revenge!
As with any big event, there are a bunch of “Thank Yous” that need to be said.
First off, thank you to our #Teammates! This day was for you and wouldn’t be the same without you. I know the weather wasn’t the warmest, but you braved it anyway and we hope you had a great time! Wait till you see what we have in store for you next year!
Next, thank you to our Go Gold Day Committee. Karen, Melissa, and Becky, you guys did an amazing job! Thank you for taking time away from your jobs and families over the weeks leading up to the event. Your efforts paid off big time!
Thank you to Shannon Burbach from the Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department for bringing your truck out. The kids had a great time!
Thank you to the dozens of volunteers who worked the event. I hope that the memory of the smiles on the faces of the kids who went through your area of the event stays with you as long as it will me!
Thank you to the members of the Dream Team for taking time out of your busy schedules to show some local kids that you care! Head Coach Senator Dave Syverson, Senator Steve Stadelman, Loves Park Mayor Greg Jury, Winnebago County Chairman Frank Haney, Rockford City Alderman Chad Tuneberg, Ben Slack from the Epilepsy Foundation, Matt Cascioi, Blair Lemons, & Lisa Clark from the Harlem School District, Ryan Rydell from RyCOM Creative & Stateline Baseball, and Jerome Bernardes from Rockford Pony Baseball. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!
Thank you to Michelle LaVigne of @PhotoMoxie for the Photos. They were amazing!
Thank you to @SolriteProductions for the Photo Booth. The kids loved it!
Thank you to @SpaGirlSoaps for the Mom Giftpacks!
Thank you to Chad at @RockfordRivets for giving us a home for our event! Thank you for all of the extra work you put in due to the recent rain. As you can tell from the pictures, the kids had a blast on the diamond and throughout the facility. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate your willingness to take part in our annual Go Gold Day Event!
